Goal of the Photo

The local Lincoln Balloon Festival in Lincoln, Illinois is quite the photographic attraction. Balloonists from all over the United States take part in this event. With this photo, I wanted to capture the bright, vivid colors placed against a clear blue sky with clean, poofy clouds to covey a sense of height.

Photo Analysis

I feel that this photo captures that sense of weightlessness hot air ballooning imparts. The wispy clouds in the background seem to be gently blowing the balloon on its way while the larger mass of white clouds give a sense of altitude to the balloon and its occupants. The bright and vivid colors lend a playful sense to the photo and work will against the blue summer time sky.
